What is Canterbury Park’s weather policy?


  What is Post Time?
A:   Post Time refers to the time when the race will begin. Daily post times vary. Thursdays and Fridays, the first post is at 6:30 PM. Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, the first post is at 12:45 PM. Saturday Night Racing in August - 6:30 PM Special July 3rd racing will begin at 4 PM. 
Q:   When do gates open?
A:   The grandstand entrance typically opens an hour and a half before post time.  However, because the Canterbury Park Card Casino is open 24/7, you'll be able to enter through the casino/valet entrance at any time.
Q:   How much is admission?
A:    Regular admission is $7.00 (Discounts apply with MVP card) and includes a regular program. Premium day admission is $9.00 (Discounts apply with MVP card) On our Thursday "Buck Nights", admission is $1.00 and regular programs are $1.00. Kids under 18 are always free.
Q:   How much are Live Racing programs? 
A:   Regular programs are included with paid admission.  Or can be purchased for $2.00 (Discounts with MVP card) if you enter the park with a admission coupon or discount. 
Q:   What is the legal gambling age?
A:   The legal gambling age in the state of Minnesota is 18, for both the racetrack and card club.

Q:   How much is parking?

General parking at Canterbury Park is FREE.  Valet parking is available year round.

Regular = $6 ($3 w/ Bronze MVP)
Live Racing = $8 ($4 w/ Bronze MVP)
Premium Events =$15 ($5 w/ Bronze MVP)

Q:   Are pets allowed at Canterbury Park?
A:   No, pets are not allowed at the track with the exception of service animals.
Q:   Can I bring a cooler into the Park?
A:   You may NOT bring your own food and beverage into the Park on live racing days, with the exception of celebratory cakes and dietary requirements.
Q:   What is Canterbury Park’s weather policy?
A:   Races run rain or shine, unless the weather conditions become too extreme that could potentially put horses, riders and staff at risk. Any cancelations will be posted on the homepage of our website and on social media outlets.
