
OUR RACE TRACK
Canterbury Park is located on 355 acres in Shakopee, Minnesota – just 25 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Built in 1984, Canterbury Park is one of the last great racetracks built in America. The 300,000 square foot grandstand features three levels for racing, along with an 18,000 square foot Card Club.
RACE TRACK
Canterbury Park's sandy loam one-mile oval has three chutes: 3 ½ furlongs, 6 ½ furlongs and 1 ¼ miles. Our turf course is a 7/8 mile inner oval that accommodates races at several distances.
GRANDSTAND
LOWER LEVEL
Administrative Offices and MRC office.
FIRST LEVEL
Canterbury Card Club, Track Apron with bench seating, Wild Horse Saloon, Ubetcha Bar, mutuel windows, information center and eateries.
SECOND LEVEL
Reserved stadium seating, handicapping tables and box seats, a Simulcast Racing Center with 250 seats, as well as multiple bars and eateries.
THIRD LEVEL
Table seating on the trackside terrace and flats in the clubhouse, Ascot Lounge, Paddock Pub handicapping areas, information center, the Park Restaurant and a Simulcast Racing Center with 250 seats.
PARKING
Our parking lot accommodates 10,000 vehicles. General parking is free; valet parking and designated tour bus parking is also available.
HORSE STABLING AREA
Our stable area includes a 5/8 mile training track, an equine aquatic exercise facility, dormitories, the Dean Kutz Memorial Chapel, racing office and 33 barns with 1,500 stalls.
