In what has come to signify a sure sign that summer is near (only 115 days until the start of the 2016 live racing season) the first issue of the condition book has been finalized by Canterbury Park management.
In addition to the release of the 2016 condition book, stake nomination forms, 2016 stall applications and other details pertaining to the upcoming live racing season are available online at www.canterburypark.com.

Total purses are estimated to eclipse the $14 million mark for the second consecutive season with average daily purse distribution topping more than $200,000 in 2016.
The $200,000 Mystic Lake Derby will again top the open stakes schedule on Sunday, August 28. For the first time, it will be joined by the $75,000 Minnesota HBPA Distaff, the $75,000 Brooks Fields Stakes and the $40,000 Careless Navigator Overnight Stakes forming a four-stake card.
On the Minnesota-bred program, the Minnesota Oaks and Minnesota Derby each offering a record $85,000 purse, will be contested on Saturday, July 30. Both races are restricted to horses foaled in Minnesota in 2013. The foal crop that year increased by 250 percent over the previous year due to the 2012 purse enhancement agreement with the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
The 2016 Festival of Champions, worth more than $410,000 will be held on Sunday, August 21.
Plans call for the 2016 wagering pools and racing officials to be finalized at the March meeting of the Minnesota Racing Commission.
The 69-day live racing season begins May 20 and runs through September 17.
