According to statistics provided by Equibase Company, jockey Jesse Jimenez Garcia won his 2,000th race yesterday, Wednesday, September 21, when he guided Joyssweetjoy to victory in the fifth race at Albuquerque.
Garcia rode at Canterbury Park for a few seasons. In 2006 he was the second leading rider at the meet. He finished in the top 5 at Canterbury in ’07 and ’08. Garcia’s all-time win percentage in Shakopee is 17.11 while his mounts hit the board 47.65% of the time.
