A visit to the track is a fun and exciting experience, and we want you to enjoy all that Canterbury Park has to offer. Below, you’ll find an easy-to-follow guide to make your trip smooth and ensure you have a great time.

Location/Parking

Getting to Canterbury Park is easy, and we have directions from whatever area you’re coming from.

Directions

The link above will provide you with information about:

• Getting here via public transportation

• Shuttle service from area hotels

• Free trolley rides to Mystic Lake during live racing

• Also, parking is ample and always free. Valet service is available, as well.

Tickets

Tickets are available at the main gate, but you can save by ordering your tickets in advance online.

• Admission Adult: $15

• Admission Youth (5-17): $15

If you have a large group coming or want to reserve a table or special section, we have a number of seating options available beyond general admission.

Info Booth/MVP Card

Once you’re inside the building, take a moment to visit the Information Booth, where you can get the scoop on the day’s racing lineup, ask questions and sign up for an MVP Rewards Card.

Once you have your MVP Card, use it when wagering to receive bonus offers for play. Your MVP Card will also get you discounts on future visits to the track.

Explore/Food and Drink

Before you settle in for the races, take some time to explore.

Head down to the track, check out our many food and drink options, and visit the paddock before each race to watch the horses.

Program

Follow along with the day’s live racing action by grabbing a program.

In it you’ll get:

• Racing information

• Upcoming events and happenings

• Promotions

• How to bet info

• Features on jockeys and trainers

Study

Before you place your bets, take a moment to look over the program for past performances of the horses, as well as wagering basics.

If it still seems a bit overwhelming, check our website for updates on handicapping classes.

Betting

Even if you’re wagering as little as 10 cents, the races are more fun with money on the line.

Once you’ve selected the horse (or horses) you like and the type of bet you want to make, you need four things:

• Race number

• Dollar amount

• Type of bet

• Horse number(s)

Also, we give you several ways to place a wager:

• Teller windows

• Self-service stations

• 1/ST Bet Mobile Wagering

With 1/ST Bet, you can avoid the lines and place bets right from your phone! Visit the Information Booth to get started.

And if you feel a bit unsure about your bet, our mutuel tellers can help you.

Watch!

It’s time for the action!

Whether you want to watch on indoors on our numerous monitors or outside at the finish line, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the race.

And listen for track announcer Paul Allen’s call of the race. He’s one of the best in the business and sprinkles in clever phrases about the horses and how they’re running.
