Simulcast Schedule for the coming week.
A reminder that there will be no simulcast racing and wagering Dec. 24 or 25.
Simulcasting is offered Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22 and 23, and then returns Friday, Dec. 26, which is opening day at Santa Anita (and Hialeah). Friday’s Daily Racing Form will be available at Canterbury valet Dec. 23 (late afternoon), 24 and 25 during business hours. Here is the December simulcast schedule. On Dec. 26, Santa Anita 2015 wall calendars will be available to the first 200 guests.
Canterbury Casino Hours
The Canterbury Casino will operate on the normal 24/7 schedule until Wednesday, Dec. 24 when it will close for the holiday at 6:00 pm. The Casino will reopen Thursday, Dec. 25 at 6:00 pm. The Poker Room is hosting a $2,100 Christmas Freeroll beginning at 6:00 pm Thursday, which is free to the first 100 players, 18 and over, in line when the room reopens following the 24 hour hiatus.
Horse Player World Series Satellite Recap
Ray Hassan won the Horse Player World Series Satellite Saturday. Both he and second-place finisher Terry O’Connor earned entries, plus airfare and accommodations, to the March 2015 HPWS at The Orleans Hotel & Casino. Hassan ended with a score of 122.20 from 10 mythical win/place wagers. O’Connor had 112.60. Mark Freiberg finished third with 93.60 and earned a cash prize of $1,400.
There will be one final satellite for the 2015 HPWS at Canterbury on February 21. Super satellites to qualify for the satellite begin Jan.1.
In The Money Contest Must Pay Saturday.
There were no winners in the In The Money Contest Saturday. The final contest of the series is Dec. 27 with the contest track being Santa Anita. This is a must-pay contest with the winner(s) being the player(s) that stay alive the longest. Minimum prize pool will be $1,300. Entry fee is $10. The rules can be found HERE. Entrants need not have played in prior contests to play Dec. 27.
