Leg Up Night Recap

Canterbury Park wrapped up Leg Up Night July 30 with over $35,000 in donations, a portion of which will be donated to the PDJF  in connection with the Jockeys Across America Day.

The night featured a silent auction, jockey bouncy ball race, dunk tank and scooter raffle. Paul Allen called race 6 from the dunk tank for the Leg Up Fund! Watch it here

“The Leg Up Fund thanks the thousands of fans, family and horsemen who contributed to the success of Leg Up Day. This year our event fell on the 32nd Anniversary of the American’s with Disabilities Act, promoted nationally through the PDJF’s ‘Jockey’s Across America Day’. This gave us the unique opportunity to partner with PDJF to heighten awareness of the distinct imperatives that the PDFJ and Leg Up Fund serve in assisting injured jockeys not only at Canterbury Park, but throughout North America and beyond,” Willa Dailey, committee member of the Leg Up Fund, said.

“We appreciate the involvement of Canterbury Park’s entire jockey colony, who worked tirelessly between races to engage directly with the public and those who sacrificed themselves to the popular dunk tank during the entire event! The lucky winner of the scooter raffle was ticket #21 belonging to Jack Holstrum of Lakeville, MN,” Dailey said.

There will be the annual Poker Tournament for the Leg Up Fund at Canterbury Park on August 22. See the flyer attached below for more information.
