The Canterbury Park Casino on Monday, Feb. 5 unveiled a new menu, with fun additions and more flavors for guests.
“It was time for a change,” said Tony Cullen, kitchen manager.
Some of the new menu items were created after receiving feedback from players, Cullen said, and his team researched current food trends to come up with a fresh taste.
“We are leaning more on the authentic tastes and flavorful creations,” he said.
There are several entirely new menu items for the Casino. The new dishes are:
Ante Up Apps
Gochujang Wings – Smoked chicken wings, Korean chili sauce
Pot Stickers – Pork dumplings, ginger soy sauce
Steak Street Tacos – Carne asada, Cholula crema, cilantro, onion, avocado, lime (See video.)
Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread Pizza
Jackpot Sandwiches
Black Bean Burger – Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles
Cholula Chicken Melt – Chicken tenders, bacon, cheddar, Cholula crema, tomato, grilled rye
Full House Entrees
Grilled Salmon – Ginger sesame glaze, grilled asparagus, jasmine rice
Chicken Tikki Masala – Marinated chicken, spicy curry sauce, steamed broccoli, jasmine rice, grilled naan
All-in-Wok
General Tso’s Chicken – Crispy chicken, sweet and spicy sauce, jasmine rice, steamed broccoli
Pork Adobo – Filipino braised pork shoulder, jasmine rice
Overall, it’s more of a tweak to the menu than a complete overhaul, though some items are going away entirely, Cullen said. With more appetizers, enhanced flavors and twists on existing plates, he expects the menu to go over well with guests in the Canterbury Park Casino.
“I’m excited about the new dishes. I’m excited for our guests to try them,” Cullen said. “I think they’re going to like it.”
The Asian dishes and sandwiches are generally the most popular with players, so many of the changes were focused on those areas, he said.
The soup and salad offerings, as well as Big Stack Breakfast items, remain unchanged.
